Central Texas is booming with current and upcoming medical
facilities to serve just about any ailment. There are facilities that
provide acute care and emergency services to full-service
hospitals throughout the area. Specialty hospitals also exist that
focus on research, education, and treatment for mental health
and addictions, rehabilitation, and special services for women,
children, and the uninsured or underserved of Central Texas.

Austin

The facility is a TDH licensed hospital with JCAHO Accreditation and Medicare Certification. Austin Surgical Hospital specializes
in inpatient surgery and outpatient procedures.

Austin State Hospital

ASH provides care through three large services – Adult Psychiatric Services, Specialty Adult Services, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Services. Clinical specialties provide assessment, evaluation, and treatment, including psychiatry, nursing, social work, psychology, education/rehabilitation services, nutrition, and spiritual care. Additional clinical support is provided through the medical and dental clinics, x-ray and laboratory services, and other consultative services. The average length of stay at the hospital is about 18 days.

Brackenridge Hospital

Brackenridge Hospital is the only Level II Trauma Facility serving the Central Texas area. Brackenridge is an acute care hospital and outpatient facility utilizing the latest in advanced technology. Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas is located on approximately 32 acres of redeveloping Mueller community, the $200 million facility is a combination of “high tech and high touch” that spans nearly half a million square feet. St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, a 228-bed full service hospital, combines convenience with state-of-the-art healthcare services. St. David’s North Austin Medical Center has offered comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services since 1995. Situated on the west side of the Seton Medical Center campus, Seton Shoal Creek has been serving Austin-area patients for more than 30 years. Seton Shoal Creek offers a wide spectrum of mental health and substance abuse services. Services include intensive psychiatric stabilization for patients dealing with issues such as emotional crises, depression and drug and alcohol dependence on a 24-hour basis. St. David’s Medical Center

St. David’s Medical Center provides comprehensive care
with special expertise in neurology and neurosurgery,
cardiac services, bariatric surgery, orthopedics, maternity
and newborn services and rehabilitation. St. David’s
Medical Center is both a Primary Stroke Center and a
Certified Chest Pain Center. The center also has the
largest Level III Neonatal Intensive Care unit in Central
Texas, and the medical staff has grown to more than
1,600 physicians representing every specialty.

South Austin Hospital
