Giving Back

Gracy Title is proud to partner with local nonprofit organizations to better the lives of Central Texans. Read below to learn more about a few of the amazing organizations we support.

Foundation Communities: Foundation Communities is by far the largest organization in town that provides a real, long-term solution for people who are very low income. With a focus on providing quality housing that people can be proud to call home, Foundation Communities provides affordable housing for over more than 2,000 families in the Austin, Dallas and Ft. Worth areas. The organization’s award-winning properties include 345 efficiency apartments for single adults facing homelessness and 62 apartments with comprehensive case management for vulnerable families, with hands-on counseling and programs that enable learning in a community and building financial responsibility. On-site support services include job training, financial counseling, youth programs, free tax preparation, parenting classes, and free on-site after-school care for children so that parents, can keep their jobs. These learning centers provide guidance for children, including tutors for homework and a nutritious snack, and are a centerpiece of stabilizing the families’ lives.

Gracy Title supports Foundation Communities by sponsoring monthly luncheons, organizing fundraisers, supporting families during FC's Christmas Adopt-a-Family program, and volunteering for a variety of projects. Where Foundation’s communities have opened, property values have gone up, crime has gone down, and once at-risk schools have begun to thrive. Housing has been provided for thousands of people and communities have been stabilized. If you work in the real estate industry and are looking for a charitable cause for you and your company, consider affordable housing as a great way to contribute to the community and help more families live the American dream.

Komen Austin Race for the Cure: On a local level, the Austin Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has been working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in the Greater Austin community since 1999. Through events such as  the Komen Austin Race for the Cure® and other philanthropic endeavors, the Austin Affiliate has invested nearly $7 Million in community breast health programs in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties. Up to 75 percent of the Austin Affiliate’s net income goes toward funding grants to local hospitals and community organizations that provide breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. The remaining net income (a minimum of 25 percent) supports the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Grants Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.

Every year, Gracy forms a team of our employees, family, friends, and clients to raise money and walk together at the Race for the Cure. We also run an annual Phones for Charity Drive, and each cell phone donated helps raise money for the Komen Foundation. If you would like to join our team or contribute in any way, please contact Michelle Piperi, or look for the Gracy booth at ABOR's Realty RoundUp.

ARCHAustin Resource Center for the Homeless: The Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH) serves as the first point of entry into the homeless service system for many of Austin’s adults experiencing homelessness for the first time, as well as those who have been living on the streets for years. The ARCH is designed to assess client needs, provide information on how and where to access services, and meet the basic emergency needs of homeless adults, as well as provide a place for homeless people to rest and get out of the elements during the day. Nearly 9,000 homeless men and women utilized the ARCH in 2008-09, including an average of approximately 500 individuals each day.

Each year in the winter, Gracy employees participate in "Warm a Heart" by donating blankets and socks to the Resource Center
